In ancient greek “philia” is translated as friendship and also as love. In the strongest connections, we find the right surrounding to reflect on ourselves and our identity. Mirroring yourself in someone is the most intimate act for friendships and requires the courage to open up to the deepest parts of your own soul. Instead of uncontrolled fear and numbness, you can develop a strong root system of trust between the two of you that sets you free – to love yourself and the other fully and in the most ethical way, and to give the power to feel whatever you choose to feel.

This portrait series is of my very best friend and soulmate Gloria. We are together since almost two decades and our journey took us through ourselves and the world.
